A bloodcurdling shout shattered the thick silence. It echoed within the empty hall, causing goosebumps to rise on my arms. A heart hammered inside his chest as I tried to figure out the location of the frightening sound.
Was it a trick? Or was my imagination working overtime in the gloomy stillness? I waited frozen in apprehension, incapable to act. Suddenly,, a figure emerged from the darkness.
Suffocated in Slumber, Awakened by Nightmares
Darkness clung to her like a shroud, thick and suffocating. Her breath/airflow/gasp hitched in her throat, a silent scream trapped within the confines of her own lungs/chest/body. Something was wrong/different/alarming, she could feel it, a presence/feeling/sensation of unseen menace pressing down on her. She tried to move, to speak/call out/scream, but her limbs felt like lead, frozen in place by an invisible hand/force/grip. Her mind raced, desperate for reason/understanding/clarity amidst the growing terror. Then, a sudden wrench/jerk/pull on something around her neck, cutting off her air/breath/oxygen. She was fighting/struggling/battling, but against what? Against whom? The world dissolved into a blurry chaos of pain and fear before she finally awoke, gasping/coughing/shuddering, the lingering taste of terror heavy on her tongue.
Silent Suffocation, a Voice from Darkness
It unfolds as an insidious tightening on your chest. You struggle to gasp, but each inhale of oxygen is met with a barrier. The world around you fades into a hazy emptiness, and your vision dims.
You scream for here rescue, but your sounds are lost within the enclosing darkness.
Your pulse ramps up in a desperate attempt to provide air to your body. But the pressure only tightens, sucking you deeper into the void.
You are alone, drowning in a ocean of your own fear.
The only sound is the drone of your own gasps. The world outside you fades away, leaving you in the cold, stark embrace of death.
